High Lawn Farm, one of the Berkshires’ most venerated businesses, is now a centenarian. And this summer, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to go pay homage to the farm, its award-winning herd of “Jersey girls,” and the growing team that makes the place tick.

Mark your calendar now for September 23, when the Massachusetts Cheese Guild will bring back the Cheese Festival after a two-year hiatus. The event, hosted by High Lawn and open to the public for a small admission fee, will feature local cheese makers, such as High Lawn and Cricket Creek, and will also include more than 15 makers from across the state and beyond.

“There aren’t a lot of opportunities for these makers to get out and interact with consumers and each other,” says Amye Gulezian, High Lawn’s quality control and food safety manager. She’s also a member of the Cheese Guild’s board of directors. “Getting them all together and dedicating a day to appreciate their craftsmanship and talk about what’s new is exciting.” Cheese making is increasingly important as an additional revenue stream for dairy farms, which often struggle to survive. The event will also include pairing partners, such as breweries, winemakers, honey, roasted nuts, crackers, and charcuterie purveyors. Boston Wine School, a wine education company, will help with tastings; closed containers of wine and beer will be sold on-site.

In the meantime, here are a few more great reasons to visit the farm:

  • Roberto’s Pizza (based in Sheffield) will be at the farm every Thursday for Pizza Pop-Ups from June 1 to September 28.
  • On July 15, High Lawn will host the New England Jersey Breeders Picnic. It’s a gathering of Jersey cow enthusiasts but the public is invited to enjoy the cow sale.
  • A 5K race is planned with Berkshire Running Foundation on July 29 to help raise money for Berkshire Bounty, a local organization that helps address food insecurity.
  • High Lawn will also be at the West Stockbridge and Lenox Farmers Markets this summer.
